Pet Food Bank Offers Lifeline So Cherished Pets and Their Owners Can Stay Together
At Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, we strive every day to be a place where even the most vulnerable pets and pet owners can turn. We have several programs that extend a helping hand to those in need, including our Pet Food Bank, which we launched in 2020 at the start of the pandemic.
Our Pet Food Bank is a beacon of hope for pet owners who cannot afford pet food right now. Thanks to the support of generous donors, we are able to keep over 500 pets with their families by providing free pet food for struggling pet owners. After all, pets offer love, comfort and a sense of normalcy during difficult times—something we all need.
Based on feedback we’ve received from several pet owners enrolled in the program, as reflected in the comments below, we know our Pet Food Bank is providing a safety net to those in our community who need help.
“I recently needed to use their food bank due to financial hardship and was welcomed by two of the nicest people. PHS staff were very kind and made the process really easy for me.” —PHS/SPCA Pet Food Bank client
“Peninsula Humane Society is a lifesaver for me and my cat. I’m on social security and without the Pet Food Bank, I don’t know how I’d feed my treasured pet.” —PHS/SPCA Pet Food Bank client
This positive feedback warms our hearts, but more importantly, shows the necessity of sustaining this free program for those in need. When you support PHS/SPCA, you are truly helping us make a difference for both pets and their people.
Your dedication to pets and their people helps to create—and preserve—relationships defined by unconditional love.
